Rabbi Meir Ba’al HaNess or, Rabbi Meir the miracle maker, was a 2nd-century Jewish sage, often cited in the Mishnah. According to the Talmud, Rabbi Meir was a descendant of the Roman Emperor Nero. He is buried inside the Sephardi synagogue 2.5km south of the city of Tiberias. Thousands of Jews make pilgrimage to his grave every year to receive blessings.
