Client Profile

Carrani Tours provides travel solutions for individuals and groups, throughout the whole of Italy. Since 1925, Carrani Tours have provided passionate and professional experiences to guests visiting world-famous cities known for art, culture, history and cuisine.

Challenge

With complex itineraries, navigating historical sites, cultural point of interests or even multiple cities, Group Tour operators face the difficult task of efficiently managing large groups of people.

Carrani offers tours in some of Italy’s most well-known tourist destinations, including Venice, Florence, Naples, Pompei and Sorrento. These destinations, however, are all becoming increasingly crowded.

Wanting their guests to have the best experience possible, Carrani needed to provide a group tour solution that would:

-Help manage crowd control, ensuring groups stay together

-Provide clear communication from tour guides to tour participants

-Effectively manage logistics when travelling to different locations

Most of all, Carrani wanted their guests to enjoy their experience thoroughly and their tour guides to focus on what they do best: hosting engaging and entertaining tours.

Solution

Antenna International is the exclusive group tour service provider to the Vatican, so Carrani found it natural to partner with the leading tour services provider to facilitate their group tour needs.

Antenna provided Carrani with over 100 devices for their Rome, Venice, Florence, Naples, Pompei and Sorrento guided tours. To aid with logistics, Antenna facilitates the Group Tour System device drop off and pick up to Carrani tours every day, saving guides valuable travel time.

The Group Tour System device allows tour guides to communicate clearly to groups of 20-30 people. Each attendee receives a portable, lightweight device plus a disposable, hygienic headphone. The tour guide is then able to speak with guests via their Group Tour System device microphone. This equipment allows guides to provide excellent information regarding historical and cultural sites, as well as manage their group, making sure everyone stays together. Guests can listen to guides while exploring the site. Gone are the days of remaining close to the tour guide, visitors are free to take photos and explore while learning more about their destination.

Outcome

The Carrani team are delighted with Antenna’s group tour solution. The Group Tour System devices are not only favoured by the tour guides, but guests also appreciate the help they render:

“We were a little worried that this tour might be too long and boring however our guide went through everything at the perfect speed and provided enough facts to maintain interest. We were provided with headsets, so we were able to take a little longer at particular areas of interest while still hearing what was coming up.” -Visitor, Canada 2017

“Was an excellent 3-hour tour with a very interesting, knowledgeable guide. The headsets made it easier to hear as well.” Visitor, UK 2017
